Lorenzo Martinez was born and raised in Abilene, TX. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a Bachelor of Behavioral Science degree (2016) and Abilene Christian University with a Master of Science degree (2018).
Lorenzo has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the public education setting in Grand Prairie ISD and Abilene ISD where he served students, aged 3-21, with a variety of impairments that included speech, language and fluency delays and disorders. He also supervised Speech-Language Pathology Assistants and student clinicians. Mr. Martinez was also employed as an adjunct professor for Abilene Christian University’s Communication Sciences and Disorders online program.
Mr. Martinez’ desire to help grow and invest in the field of Speech-Language Pathology led him to be employed at Hardin-Simmons University in August 2025 as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Program Director of the Communication Sciences and Disorders department.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Brittney and daughter Rylee, ranching, hunting, and traveling.
