At Hardin-Simmons University, the Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the voice of the student body—advocating for student needs, strengthening campus community, and partnering with university leadership to enhance the student experience.
Meet the students serving on this year’s Student Government Association.
EXECUTIVE BOARD
Nina Tarasovets, Kamianka, Ukraine
Student Body President | Senior
Major: Business Administration
Minors: Marketing and Economics
Nina chose to serve in SGA out of a genuine love for Hardin-Simmons University and its people. She believes SGA is for everyone and values the opportunity to step outside her usual circles, learn from different perspectives, and grow in how she serves the campus community. This year, she hopes to increase student engagement, lead a strong election season, grow as a leader and communicator, graduate, find a job, and leave SGA better than she found it. She is especially passionate about encouraging students to become more involved on campus.
Fun fact: She practices woodburning.
Grace Fleitman, Denton, Texas
Vice President
Major: Biology (Class of 2026)
Grace joined SGA to be part of a greater community that works to positively impact the university. Her goal this year is to get more students involved with student government and campus life. She is especially passionate about helping students get plugged into opportunities at IM体育平台 and feel confident navigating involvement on campus.
Fun fact: She sews quilts in her free time.
Malachi Daniels, Abilene, Texas
Executive Treasurer
Major: Criminal Justice (Fall 2026)
Malachi oversees and manages funds allocated to student clubs and organizations. He joined SGA because of its Christ-driven mission and his desire to help others. His goals include enriching campus unity and gaining acceptance into law school. He is especially passionate about improving transparency and unity between faculty, staff and students to reduce conflict and build trust.
Fun fact: He enjoys coaching youth sports, especially basketball.
Halle Bruntmyer, Abilene, Texas
Chaplain
Major: Mechanical Engineering (Class of 2028)
Halle serves as SGA chaplain, planning service projects, encouraging chapel attendance, praying over the campus community, and supporting students’ spiritual growth. She chose to serve because of her deep love for IM体育平台 and her belief in education enlightened by faith. Her personal goal this year is to walk daily in the joy of her salvation and live a Christ-centered life. She is especially passionate about teaching servant leadership and encouraging students to lead with humility.
Fun fact: After a childhood accident that required facial surgery, she learned early the importance of inclusion and loving others despite differences.
Abigail Cox, Rockwall, Texas
Executive Administrator | Senior
Major: Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation
Abigail supports the work of the SGA executive board through organization, communication, and content creation. In her role, she assists with coordination across SGA initiatives and manages posting for the Student Government Association’s social media accounts, helping keep students informed and engaged.
SENIOR CLASS SENATORS
Alyssa Rosales, Abilene, Texas
Senior Class Senator
Major: Nursing | Senior
Alyssa joined SGA to advocate for students who may not feel confident using their voice. She hopes to help solve campus issues and believes meaningful improvement often comes through small, thoughtful changes. She is passionate about upscaling IM体育平台 through attention to detail and student-focused enhancements.
Fun fact: She and her sister are 13 years apart.
Josh Granados, Abilene, Texas
Senior Class President
Major: Psychology | Year 4
Josh serves to give a voice to his peers and strengthen student engagement across campus. His goals include graduating soon and making a lasting impact on campus life. He is passionate about creating more opportunities for students to explore and enjoy the IM体育平台 campus.
Fun fact: After graduation, he plans to become a therapist and hopes to lead research in child psychology.
Hanna Kincheloe, San Angelo, Texas
Senior Class Senator
Major: Criminal Justice (Class of 2026)
Hanna advocates for the senior class and supports fellow senators and the senior class president in drafting proposals. She joined SGA to make new friends, become involved in campus life, and gain leadership experience helpful for law school. Her primary goal is to be accepted into law school and begin in the fall. She is passionate about ensuring students—especially younger students—feel supported and valued within the IM体育平台 community.
Fun fact: She enjoys being spontaneous and has gone skydiving.
JUNIOR CLASS SENATORS
Zach Ledbetter, Coppell, Texas
Junior Class Senator | Senior
Major: Biology
Zach serves as a junior class senator, representing student voices while gaining a deeper understanding of how student government operates. He chose to get involved in SGA to learn how decisions are made and to explore new ways to engage with students across campus. This year, Zach’s goals include gaining hands-on experience and clinical hours at Hendrick Health as he prepares to apply to graduate school. He is especially passionate about helping students find Bible studies or Life Groups where they can build meaningful relationships and engage in conversations that go beyond the surface.
Fun fact: He is part African American.
Jarrett Steward, Dallas, Texas
Junior Class President
Major: Exercise Science | Junior
Jarrett joined SGA to be a voice for students and help improve campus spaces. His goals include maintaining strong grades. He is especially passionate about improving the BSM courtyard and creating collaborative spaces for students.
Fun fact: He has five siblings.
Faith Gaines
Junior Class Senator
Major: Music Performance and Music Education | Junior
Faith joined SGA to increase representation for the College of Arts and Media and to have a meaningful voice in campus decision-making. Her goals include making the President’s List, developing better habits, and growing closer to God. She is passionate about creating opportunities for students to see and appreciate the work of other majors, clubs, and organizations.
Fun fact: She has metal in both of her legs.
SOPHOMORE CLASS SENATORS
Annabelle Ledbetter, Abilene, Texas
Sophomore Class Senator
Major: Criminal Justice (Pre-Law) | Sophomore
Annabelle joined SGA to advocate for her peers and help improve IM体育平台 through student representation. Her goals include preparing for law school and growing in her relationships with others. She is especially passionate about addressing the lack of physical health care resources on campus.
Fun fact: She enjoys reading mystery novels and studying crime cases.
Alan Hard, Azle, Texas
Sophomore Class Senator
Major: Social Work and Psychology | Sophomore
Alan joined SGA to be part of a strong community and make a tangible difference on campus. His goals include maintaining strong grades and competing in his first powerlifting meet since high school. He is especially interested in improving the entertainment and engagement aspects of campus life.
Fun fact: He can pick up new hobbies very quickly.
Chloe Birnbaum, Canyon, Texas
Sophomore Class President
Major: Exercise Science (Class of 2027)
Chloe joined SGA to grow as a leader while working collaboratively with students and administrators. Her goals include increasing student participation in campus events and encouraging greater involvement in volunteer and service projects. She is especially passionate about student engagement and creating opportunities for students to connect.
Fun fact: She can play the harmonica.
FRESHMAN CLASS SENATORS
Rylie Cooper, El Paso, Texas
Freshman Class President
Major: Business Management (Class of 2029)
Rylie drafts and revises proposals for the freshman class each semester. She joined SGA to foster community and make a difference at IM体育平台. Her goals include traveling more and exploring new places. She is passionate about campus improvement initiatives such as additional trash pickup days and repainting crosswalks.
Fun fact: She swam competitively for 10 years.
Trinity Epley, Greenville, Texas
Freshman Class Senator
Major: Exercise Science | Freshman
Trinity joined SGA because she enjoys listening to students and helping improve the learning environment at IM体育平台. Her goals include traveling as much as possible. She is passionate about environmental initiatives, including the possibility of starting a campus garden or partnering with local shelters.
Fun fact: She loves outdoor activities like snowboarding and hiking.
Ethan Valadez, Arlington, Texas
Freshman Class Senator
Major: Exercise Science (Class of 2029)
Ethan joined SGA to help create a more welcoming campus culture. His goals include maintaining a high GPA and loving others the way Christ loved him. He is especially passionate about inclusion and ensuring students never feel left out or unwelcome.
