About Ainsley

Ainsley is a Junior at Hardin-Simmons University who was born and raised in Arlington Texas, located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan area.

She helps support our Cowboy and Cowgirl athletic teams through her contributions as an IM体育试玩 Cheerleader, where she has been a member for one year.

Ainsley chose IM体育试玩 because of the education department’s reputation and loved their prioritization of Christian education.

“I picked IM体育试玩 because of their amazing education department, and I knew that I wanted to go somewhere with an emphasis on Christian education,” she said.

She knew from an early age that she wanted a career in teaching, thanks to her family’s legacy in education. However, it wasn’t until later that she felt a specific calling toward elementary education.

“I picked my major because I will become a sixth-generation teacher in my family. I picked elementary specifically because I love kids, and I want to be able to make a difference in their lives,” Ainsley shared.

As a student in the Irvin School of Education, Ainsley has enjoyed learning how to help students understand various concepts in innovative ways, while also developing effective problem-solving skills.

She commended Mrs. Thompkins, an IM体育试玩 math professor, for creating a positive learning environment through her genuine compassion for all her students.

“Mrs. Tompkins has made a massive impact on me this semester. She genuinely loves every one of her students and works extremely hard to make sure we all understand math,” Ainsley stated.

She has been challenged this semester with her course that covers the foundation of education, due to its large variety of concepts. However, she knows that this course will not only help her become an excellent future educator but also teach her valuable skills.

Future Aspirations

Ainsley hopes to become an elementary school teacher that fosters a welcoming learning environment for all students through love and faith.

She also wants to be remembered as a courageous leader and always having a positive outlook on life no matter what the situation is.

Advice to Elementary Education Majors

Her advice to current and future elementary education majors is to develop suitable time management skills, along with prioritizing assignments well before the due date.
