IM体育平台 Theatre Announces 2025–2026 Season of Shows

Get ready for a season of magic, mystery, music, and memorable performances! Hardin-Simmons University Theatre has announced its 2025–2026 lineup, bringing a variety of productions to the stage that are perfect for families, friends, and theatre fans of all ages.

“This year’s lineup showcases the breadth of talent within our program and offers something for every audience member,” said Dr. Victoria Spangler, Associate Professor of Theatre in the College of Arts and Media. “We’re excited to share stories that inspire laughter, reflection, and joy.”

Season Highlights

  • Pops at the Pond — Sept. 19, 6:00 p.m., Anderson Lawn
    An outdoor musical showcase featuring IM体育平台 music and theatre students performing Broadway favorites and more. Free and open to all ages.
  • XSR:Die! — Sept. 25–27, 7:30 p.m.; Sept. 28, 2:00 p.m., Van Ellis Theatre
    A hilarious comedy-mystery by Dallas playwright Kurt Kleinmann. Performed in “living black and white,” this fast-paced whodunit keeps audiences guessing. Directed by Dr. Victoria Spangler.
  • Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella — Nov. 6–8, 14–15, 7:30 p.m.; Nov. 16, 2:00 p.m., Van Ellis Theatre
    The beloved fairy tale comes to life with enchanting music, dazzling costumes, and timeless lessons of hope. Directed by Dr. Stace Gaddy.
  • 24 Hour Shakespeare — Nov. 22, 7:00 p.m., Van Ellis Theatre
    Students rehearse and stage an abridged Shakespeare play in just 24 hours. Title announced the night before. Fundraiser for the IM体育平台 Theatre Travel Fund.
  • Marvin’s Room — Feb. 12–14, 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 15, 2:00 p.m., Van Ellis Theatre
    A poignant, award-winning play by Scott McPherson exploring family, love, and resilience. Directed by Dr. Victoria Spangler. Recommended for ages 12+.
  • Christian University Theatre Festival (CUTF) — March 2–4, Van Ellis Theatre
    IM体育平台 hosts this regional festival featuring performances and workshops with students from McMurry, Lubbock Christian, and Howard Payne universities. Open to the public.
  • Songs for a New World — April 9–10, 7:30 p.m.; April 11–12, 2:00 p.m., Van Ellis Theatre
    Jason Robert Brown’s powerful contemporary song cycle blends pop, gospel, and jazz in a reflection on pivotal life moments. Directed by Dr. Stace Gaddy. Recommended for ages 12+.
  • DirectFest Spring ’25 — April 24–25, 7:30 p.m., Down Centre Stage
    Student directors from the Directing I class present original 15-minute productions in an intimate setting.
