This week, Hardin-Simmons University’s newest residence hall, Prichard Hall, was dedicated. With this newest celebration, let’s not forget what residence halls preceded Prichard Hall and act as the backdrop for students’ lives at IM体育试玩. In chronological order, let’s explore a brief history of these buildings (*note, this list only includes residence halls that are still standing and in use).

Ferguson Hall, 1926

Ferguson Hall is the oldest residence Hall still standing on campus. Though several came before it, it will celebrate its 100th anniversary in only two years.

Behrens Hall, 1952

In 1952, Behrens Hall was completed as a residence hall for women. The three-story building was necessary due to the increased enrollment post-WWII.

Anderson Hall, 1954

Anderson Hall was built in 1954 andnamed in honor ofGeorge S. Anderson, a school trustee who served for nearly sixty years.
